Episode 3 – The Astronomical Book
Heavenly Luminaries from 1 Enoch, Chapters 72-82
The Book of Heavenly Luminaries claims divine revelation about the sun, moon, stars, and calendar. If true, this knowledge was given to Enoch before the flood—but was it from YHWH or from the fallen Watchers? The calendar system described here differs from the Torah's lunar calendar. Beware: not all "heavenly" knowledge comes from the Most High.
We believe these 6 Episodes (the stories in 1 Enoch) are false and do not belong to YHWH's true word.
The Astronomical Book (Chapters 72–82) presents Enoch's journey through the heavens with the angel Uriel, learning the movements of celestial bodies and calendar calculations. This section claims divine authority over timekeeping and seasonal cycles.
Critical Question: Did this astronomical knowledge come from YHWH, or was it corrupted wisdom from the fallen Watchers mentioned in Episode 1?
☀️ Solar and Lunar Calculations
Solar Year: 364 days divided into 52 weeks exactly
Lunar Months: Complex calculations differing from Torah
Star Positions: Detailed maps of constellations and their movements
Seasonal Gates: Heaven divided into gates for sun and moon passages
If this is divine revelation, why does it contradict the lunar calendar YHWH established in Torah?
📅 The Enochian Calendar System
The Astronomical Book promotes a 364-day solar calendar that:
- Always begins on the same day of the week
- Divides the year into four equal quarters
- Rejects the lunar months commanded by YHWH
- Claims superior accuracy to all other systems
But YHWH established the moon for seasons and appointed times (Genesis 1:14, Psalm 104:19). Why would He later give Enoch a contradictory system?
"And God said, 'Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years.'" — Genesis 1:14
"He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting." — Psalm 104:19
The Deception Warning
If the Watchers taught humanity forbidden knowledge (as claimed in Episode 1), could this astronomical wisdom be part of their deception?
YHWH's calendar in Torah is lunar-based. The Enochian system directly contradicts this divine order.
Test all spirits and all claimed revelations against YHWH's established word. Not every "heavenly" knowledge comes from the Most High.
Questions to Consider:
- Why would YHWH give Enoch a calendar system that contradicts His Torah?
- Could this "divine" astronomical knowledge actually originate from the fallen Watchers?
- How do we test claimed revelations against YHWH's established word?
- What dangers exist in accepting "heavenly" wisdom that contradicts Scripture?
"To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." — Isaiah 8:20
