Solomon’s temple was man’s idea, allowed because David desired it, but not YHWH’s plan. It became corrupted, used for sin, not holiness, and YHWH judged it.

Early Square Script: “Solomon loved many foreign women… and his wives turned his heart after other gods.” (1 Kings 11:1–4)
Built shrines for Molech, Chemosh, Ashtoreth. Did evil in YHWH’s sight. Never returned to full obedience.
Solomon appointed priests for his temple—many not chosen by YHWH. Later kings and priests sacrificed children in high places and valleys.
Early Square Script: “They have built the high places… to burn their sons in the fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart.” (Jeremiah 19:5)
The temple became corruption, not holiness.
Torah commands repentance, not human blood. “The soul that sins, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20)—no substitute.
