✝️ Mary Magdalene Was NOT a Prostitute

Restoring the Truth from Scripture, Not Tradition

🚫 Where Did This False Idea Come From?

1️⃣ Confusion in Luke 7:36–50

An unnamed sinful woman anoints Yeshua’s (Jesus’) feet with tears and perfume. She is called a "sinner", but her name is never given. Mary Magdalene is NOT mentioned in this chapter.

2️⃣ Pope Gregory I (591 AD) – A Critical Error

Combined three separate women into one:

Claimed Mary Magdalene was the sinful woman, implying she was a prostitute. This was not based on scripture, but on assumption.

⚠️ Pope Gregory's sermon became church tradition, not biblical fact.

🎭 How the Lie Spread

✅ What the Bible Actually Says About Mary Magdalene

📖 Luke 8:2–3

📖 Matthew 27:55–56, Mark 15:40, John 19:25

📖 John 20:1–18

🕊️ This makes her the very first witness to the risen Messiah.

❤️ Why This Matters

Calling her a prostitute distorts her legacy as a righteous, faithful disciple.

The Bible never once calls Mary Magdalene a "sinful woman" or links her to prostitution.

She is portrayed as loyal, healed, generous, courageous, and faithful to the end.

✝️ She was not a fallen woman—she was a faithful one.
