Destruction of The Way

The first believers, called "The Way," followed a Hebrew-based faith rooted in Torah and Yeshua’s teachings, rejecting Greek distortions like the Book of Hebrews. The Universal (Catholic) Church, built by Constantine and his successors (312-406 AD), violently destroyed The Way, burning their Hebrew and Aramaic scrolls and killing followers to enforce a Romanized, Greek-influenced religion that replaced YHWH’s covenant with imperial theology.

The Way rejected the Book of Hebrews because it:

• Had no author, lacking apostolic authority
• Rewrote Torah, making Yeshua a non-Levite priest
• Called the temple a “shadow,” undermining YHWH’s covenant
• Introduced Greek mysticism, e.g., eternal Melchizedek
• Promoted a blood-based religion, not Torah obedience

The Peshitta excluded it; Nazarenes and Ebionites used Hebrew Matthew instead.

KJV, John 18:36: “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, My servants would fight.”

Yeshua’s kingdom was not built on violence or imperial power, unlike the Roman Church’s conquests.

NIV: “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders.”
